Tony Playter, ABC

Accredited Business Communicator
& Conversational Creative Content Writer

I am a proud member of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan, who has an entrepreneurial and creative spirit.

As an accredited business communicator (ABC), I have over 35 years of valuable strategic communications, media relations and marketing experience from high profile clients such as Regina & District Chamber of Commerce, Regina Bypass Project, Regina Airport Authority, Regina Exhibition Association Limited, Regina Public Library, SGI, the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club, City of Regina – Mayor’s Office, Canadian Blood Services, Saskatchewan Special Olympics and CKRM Radio.

Presently, I am the owner of Outlaw Communications and former CEO of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce.

My key role is to provide my clients with strategic communications and business opportunities, media relations support and training, social media planning and execution as well as strategic marketing advice and stakeholder relations.

In addition to my passion for business, my primary strengths include strategic communication planning, crisis communications, creative writing, media relations support, media training, branding, marketing, issues management, strategic planning and relationship building.

I approach each business, communications or marketing issue with a strategic mindset, focusing on desired outcomes rather than outputs or non-measurable pursuits.

Too often leaders get focused on tactics or outputs instead of measurable objectives. Without measurable outcomes, it is difficult to determine whether the business or communications strategy is successful.

I feel that a solid, well thought out multi-level strategy is a key component of any strategic business, communications or marketing initiative or yearly plan.

I am known as a positive-thinking team player with a unique sense of humour. I also enjoy exciting challenges and embrace the opportunity to learn new and innovative ways of creating new business opportunities or enhancing my writing and communication abilities.

I take satisfaction in developing strong internal and external corporate and personal relationships. My leadership style encourages personal development not only for myself, but also the people I work and volunteer with.

I am a creative thinker and freelance writer who also uses creativity to pen short stories, sports trivia and off the wall humour.

Being community minded, I believe in giving back to the community that has allowed me to grow and have a successful career. I have gained valuable volunteer and board experience with Tourism Saskatchewan, the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross Council, Regina Crime Stoppers, the Regina Red Sox and the Regina Thunder.

Most importantly, I
strongly believe in
strategy before tactics.
